Had 3 flats with the C-5, one with a major rip - all three kept going. Two were patched after driving to dealer, no issues; major rip caused by me taking corner a "little" too fast and hitting metal in curb Still, even with the gash, I did get it home (about 5 miles) - did not want to risk driving to dealer (especially after seeing the bent rim), had it towed.
Have already had 2 nails in the C-6, one could not be repaired because located in the edge where give occurs, had to order new tire - but did drive it to go get something to eat while waiting for new tire to come in.
In the end - very pleased to have them, saved sitting on the side of the road.
no experience in a c5: for those of us who enjoy the c5 and who do not feel a need to take it on the track, do not do motocross, no drag racing, & who, for the most part, drive the speed limit on the street, i would not be without runflats. some years ago in a gm car (not in a c5) i had a blowout (L rear) on the pa turnpike @ approx 65/70 mph. the car was a handful to get stopped but that was the easy part. the tire was essentially shredded (you should have seen the paint around the wheel well ) and as a result, the car sat W-A-Y down lower. the normal jack was worthless. only because i had my trusty hydraulic jack with me could i get the car in the air to change it. since i don't carry a hydraulic jack anymore & live a simpler life, i would not be without runflats. if i could get them on our dd 06 pilot, i'd have them. thanks for listening. bub
