I had my EBCM replaced recently and I thought all was well,
Today I've had more AH problems
The snag always occurs when I'm stationary at the lights. The outside air was 108F today.
This time its a Service Vehicle Soon Caption with an AH trip. The TCS is still operating and I can select it on and off with the button. The problem clears when I turn off the car and restart. Its thrown a C1287 code which is Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction.
This doesn't make sense to me as its occurring when I'm stationary.
Any thoughts, particularly why it only seems to happen when its hot.
I keep getting the codes for the steering wheel position sensor also. It only happens after sustained driving of 2-8 hours on the highway. Goes away after the car cools down and is restarted. Anyone know how much this will cost to get fixed?
Anyone any idea how it operates and why I'd get a snag when stationary? I seem to remeber from an old post that it does a check in the few minutes after start and if it gets a bad reading from the sensor throws up a code.
