Does anyone have a model of the C5 or C6 corvette in Solidworks. I want to make up some exhaust components and this would be invaluable. I basically need the dimensions around the engine and body.
Does GM ever release drawings with viewing/measuring capability only?
I'm guessing you have a better chance calling Dave Hill's home and asking him personally for the drawings. If any GM engineer ever let drawings out, let alone solid models, not only would they not have a job but they'd have a hefty lawsuit on their hands.
You can get EASM drawings that dont disclose much information... you can just view and measure between points but the drawings themselves are relatively useless for copying. You would think it is in GM's best interest to support the aftermarket for their cars. Heck, the main reason I bought a vette was to modify it.
It is highly unlikely that anyone at GM would have SolidWorks drawings, given that most automotive manufacturing companies use Catia, UG, or Pro-E to create components that go into very large assemblies. Perhaps a car model company like Revelle? Even then, an IGES or STEP may be the best you can hope for.

I agree. Can you imagine if I released drawings for the F-35 I would have the DoD on me like stink on $hit.
