fuel gauge?

fuel gauge?
my guage works from full to about 1/2 tank and then goes to empty. It startes to work again at a little less than 1/4. What do I do and if I have to replace the sending unit how big of a pain in the a$$ is it to do?

Try useing Chevron Techron.(available at most parts stores) follow directions use in two tanks of gas. This has worked for me and many others. Its cheap and the stealership does not get at you ride.

I agree, before you go replacing things run a few bottles of Techron through the gas tank to see if it will cure the erratic fuel guage. If that doesn't solve the problem and you have to replace fuel sending units, be prepared - its not a cheap fix.

I agree, too. My guage was acting wierd and I followed the suggestions on the forum. In addition to using the bottled Techron, be sure to use a good quality gas with Techron or a good cleaning additive. Chevron, Shell, Texaco, etc. Check before you fill up.
