I was in a Parade a couple of weeks ago. the only thing that worried me is how to put on the banners or poster board on the side of the car. They had cloth covered magnets, aaa doesn't work, ended up using masking tape on the bottom under the door and string on top tied to inside door handles. How but some ideas from you parade vetterans on better methods?
Best way I've seen is to use a large roll of something (like wrapping paper) with a poster attached to it hanging from strings. The roll can then be drapped over the door (roll on inside with enough string to hang sign over the outside of the door). Worked great, easy to adjust and get in just the right position.
I have not used mine in a homecoming evernt yet, but I did 36 years of high school admin. so I ran many HC's.
I always told the car owners to bring many towels to protect the inside and the painted body service. Some people did the cut to shape wood piece for the passenger seaat so the girls could stand on the seat. I have used many types of cars, vettes, and many classic cars. No damage to anyones car.

Leave it to me to sh*t on the parade....but one accidental blip of the throttle and the homecoming queen goes backward down the hatch glass and into the street. I wouldn't want to be associated with that as the driver or event planner. Just a thought about potential liability.
NOTE: When I was a little kid, some highschool girl was riding, or possibly just sitting, on the back of a convertable across from my house. Somehow, she fell backward and sustained a head injury. I can remember walking outside to find people crowded around her while she convulsed and vomited in the street. She suffered severe permanent brain damage.

Shouldn't need to touch the gas pedal. Just slowly release the clutch or let off the brake in an auto. You should be going fast enough around a football field this way.
