We've got a three car garage. Would have been a four car, but the wife and the builder said the house would look funny.

Bah! Mine is the same size as my house (1250 sq. ft. each). I set the garage back a bit so it didn't look as big.

I don't have any images yet (moving on Monday), but my new garage/shop is 33ft deep x 55ft wide (1,800sf+) with fourteen 48" four bulb florescents T8 fixtures, utility sink and plenty of storage area. It's heated for winter, but cooling is via windows and open bay doors. I'll order the BEND-PAK lift and rolled vinyl floors in about two weeks when things settle down. I've still got to empty the 10x20' storage locker out thats been home to my shop equipment for the past 16 months.

I have a four car garage plus a large workshop and storage room in my basement. The total square footage of the basement is approx. 2800. I have 3 garage doors but one stall is 46 feet deep so I park the Vette deep in that stall and my DD truck behind it. The other two stalls are about 27 feet deep. The best part about my garage is that being in the basement it never gets over 75 degrees in the garage area and 70 in the workshop. In the winter it never gets below 60 degrees in the garage and 68 in the workshop.
I first had a basement garage when living in Atlanta 20 years ago and made up my mind then that I would definitely build a basement garage when I built my retirement home. I have been in this house for seven years now and I would not even consider a house without a basement garage because they are so comfortable to work in. I guess I am really spoiled in my old age.

Thanks for the kind words about my garage.

I enjoy it and use it constantly. We have 4 kids and somebody or somebody's spouses car needs work all the time. Since I am retired they think my garage is the place to come and get free work. It is really nice in the bitter cold to have a warm garage and the floor is warm enough to lay on to get under the cars.

STOP ! You had me at "the place to come and get free work." -- don't tease with the warm floor too!

Love your garage!

We have a great building. Still have the two car garage at the house but we remodeled this building that was here when we bought our farm. Has concrete floor/drains, super lighting, bathroom, hot water, hose hookups, vacuums, air compressor, and storage room. It is not all done and painted nice but it was originally set up for my side detail business now a big toy shop. We even have a pop, I mean beer machine! 75 cents for a cold Bud...
Here are a few pictures while we were doing projects....
