Another Stealership Rant!
From another dealer I did find out that the dealer can reprogram the FOB. The service manager did not have to look at the car to tell me that. I am going to try that before I purchase a new one. Has anyone tried that and had any luck?

We've discussed this - I think your Remote Function Actuator (a.k.a. Fob) is bad. For the same $90 or so that they are going to charge you to "look" at it...buy a brand new RFA from Fichtner or Fred Beans. Save yourself the aggrevation. JMHO....

Probably going to be right, I like to throw money away, so I think I am going to try it. I am going to ask them how much before they touch it. What got me wondering, and why I called, I purchased a used fob, and the guy swore it work, and I needed to take it to the dealer to have it trained. If I want to get my $$ back on the used fob I have to try it. All this is a PITA!
After reading through this forum, I discovered a DIY fob programming procedure, and was therefore able to program my new fob myself...saving me fifty bucks and also the inconvenience of having to sync my dealership visit with the day that their tech was there.

From the Owners Manual:
Matching Transmitter(s) to Your Vehicle
Each remote keyless entry transmitter is coded to
prevent another transmitter from unlocking your vehicle.
If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be
purchased through your dealer. Remember to bring any
remaining transmitters with you when you go to your
dealer. When the dealer matches the replacement
transmitter to your vehicle, any remaining transmitters
must also be matched. Once your dealer has coded the
new transmitter, the lost transmitter will not unlock your
vehicle. Each vehicle can have a maximum of three
transmitters matched to it.
To match transmitters to your vehicle:
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver
Information Center (DIC) by pressing the
RESET button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several
times until the blank page is displayed, then press
and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed,
press the RESET button once. The message HOLD
LK + UNLK 1ST FOB in the DIC will be displayed.
5. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
first transmitter simultaneously for five seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned (matched), the DIC
will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you
to learn the second transmitter.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the third transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.
The programming mode will shut off if any of following
has occurred:
You don’t program any transmitters for two minutes.
You take the key out of the ignition.
You have programmed three transmitters.

It would be easier to get a new Corvette fob from E Bay or one of the supporting dealers which will resynch. I wouldn't risk over inflated prices from a Dealer that doesn't know how to fix the problem.

It is just amazing how unacquainted service managers (Chevy Dealerships) are with Chevrolets flagship vehicle. In fact, it's even effing scary! But, call around and compare dealerships. Although you might have to drive out of your region, you might just find a Dealership that has personnel that RNTS (really knows their $h!t).
Now tell, me did you really expext the dealership manager to know this?
