Default Roll Cage Question

Car runs low 7's in the 1/8th, which equates to 11's in the 1/4. I will also be adding NS, and know I will be required to have a roll bar or cage. I want to have the required equipment, but don't like the idea of having the cage extend down past the driver and passenger seats. You know, the part that has to swing open like the door to get in the seat. If this is ultimately required, can it be removed w/ pins for daily driving. Can I get away w/ not having it? Thanks for the help.

5 point is required so you will have it at least on the drivers side. The door bars are removable so when your not racing just take it out.

Thanks, just what I wanted to know. Is yours a bolt in or weld in? Where did you purchase it, if you don't mind me asking?

Mine is fully welded Chromolly. I had it custom fabricated down here in South Florida at a local race shop.

Stephen, I want to tell him the forum member who made your bar. For the life of me I don't remember who it was.

***EDIT: I remembered*** Jason CAJUNDUDE also posted below.

Did you have to cut the seat to accommodate the harness?

Thanks for the help. Still don't quite understand the seat and harness thing! Looks like it comes up though the seat about 4-5" from the front of the seat. Does it come across the front of the seat and then through a slot in the seat cover?

Factory stock seats. I changed the color and the padding.

Never mind, I see that it was custom fitted for the harness.

Guess I got the answer before your edit. OK there is a bracket that attaches to the seat which allows the installation of the 6 point harness. Nothing comes through the bottom of the seat. You actually sit on the part that you see in the photos.

Here are the seat brackets for the harness. Do you have standard seats or the Sport seats?

That looks like a reasonable price at $265.00. This is for a 5 point mild steel weld/bolt in. Is this adequate?
