I have'nt had that happen to me yet I guess it depends were you live some cops are a holes in some parts of the country than others I guess it depends how bored they are
Actually ---I've always thought that any high performance sports car like the Corvette is far safer at 10 MPH over the limit because of the far higher vehicle dynamic capabilites -- including far shorter stopping distances. I'd much rather pull over the mom doing 10 over while yelling at her kids in the back seat, talking on her cell phone, drinking her Starbucks while driving her 88 Buick Regal with bald tires and one tail light --- but that's just me.......
you forgot : plucking her eyebrows, combing her hair; putting on makeup
I say, "pull the fuse on the DRLs" and it'll give you an extra few moments to reduce your speed before you're noticed. It happened today where an oinker was sitting at the top of the hill when the radar detector started to blip. I pulled back the speed from 62 to 50mph and watch how long it would take him to point the gun at me. I had lots of time. IMO he would have focused on me faster if I had a MY C5 wth DRLs on. Silver and gray cars have always been safer for me to skirt the law. When you have 500hp you need any help you can get.
Personally, I can deal with the speeding tickets. I figure I'm due a couple thousand of the things that I DIDN'T get.
So I'm always polite to the officers. After all, they have to win one once in awhile.
I just wish I didn't always have to listen to the "you need to slow down to a safe speed" lecture. A driver who puts 60K on cars each year and hasn't had an accident in almost 40 years of driving, in a well maintained Corvette with good tires and NO cell phone going 90 on an interstate is NOT unsafe. I know it and the cops know it. Why do I have to listen to the safety lecture?
