I would tell him to keep both, I own a lot of different cars and I love each one of them for different reasons but the best (by far) overall one is my Vette. It's truly the best "all-arounder" out of them all in that it rides nice, plenty of power, cruising down the shore at 70MPH is relaxing and fuel effecient, you can leave it in (most) parking lots and many more things. If that Ferrari is anything like my Porsche, it's a blast to drive for a while but it can be a workout too w/ the touchy steering, rough ride, road noise, etc...Oh yeah, and when they break look out baby !!! Get the checkbook out, it costs me over $100 to change the P car's oil myself ! I Love my Vette
Ok here it is I own a 03 ZO6. My friend Paulie owns a 360 Modena with exhaust, chip, and some other little gadgets. All my car has is a Catback Borla Exhaust.
here lies the truth - Of course the Ferrari is a rare car, but back In ITALY or the rest of EUROPE the Corvette is an Exotic rare automobile.
Now look at me and Paulie play on the highway!!! Which exotic is built to be a true exotic race car, cause that's what the Ferrari is soppose to be! or am I just wrong?!
I'm surprised to see so many people say they would take the 360 over the vette. especially when one could own about 5 c5 z06s and still pay less to maintain them than the ferrari. by the way i just put a deposit down on a 2002 z06
I spent 20 days in Italy ... working at the Ferrari Site... I met up with this couple who had rented a Ferrari for 3 days at 3K a person... that included the hotel and food... Anyhow.. I got to take a ride in a 430... did not get to drive but did start it lol.... video is below...
I must say the Z would go if i could have one of these but I think if you can sport 250K for a F430 another 30k for a used Z06 is chump change...
Also check out my post of all the Ferrari photos from the Ferrari Factory Museum

Congrats! You'll be happy with the Z. What color??

As much as I love all Corvette's, there is simply no comparing a Ferrari to a Corvette. If he can afford the car, then get the Ferrari.
I have both but my vette is for the track.I was at the Glen this weekend and could say the 360 challenge cars are on a par with my 500 rwhp vette as they corner better but I pull in the straights with lap times in the 2:09-2:10 range
Congrats! You'll be happy with the Z. What color??
thank you! glowing red w red/black int i swear, that car has its own light source! I actually get the car in about 2 weeks. I just sealed the deal last night but the guy is gonna do some service on it. no pics unfortunately but who doesnt know what a stock red z06 looks like?
i love my z06, but if i had a chance to own a ferrari id have one in a heartbeat...something about a 360, you can make a mustang really fast too for the amount of money to buy a new z06 but which would you rather have?

Here comes the old "$500 Pinto and $20,000 in mods" argument.
It's all about financial wealth when you want to talk about F cars, at least from my point of view. Obviously Ferrari's offer an incredible driving and ownership experience, but it's hard to justify 5x the price for the same performance in my world.
Needless to say, I cannot afford an F360 or F430, so perhaps my opinion isn't so good. But for my $35k I'm quite happy with the C5Z, and I hope to upgrade to a C6Z in the next 3 years or so, depending on how the resale values work out.
Back on topic...I've been fortunate to ride/drive in a few Ferrari's through the years, and would absolutely say there is much more to them than the performance alone. It's a true ownership lifestyle to have a Ferrari, and I do feel there is a substantial value to having one versus other cars. Tell your friend good luck with his decision, but I do think he should keep the Z for a good comparison yardstick that he can also drive with fewer concerns.

yea good point,... if ur even thinking about a ferrari,... might as well keep both. use the vette as the grocery gitter but at least use it :-)
