Wow! This thread is four years old! Having said that, you can currently get a nice 360 Modena for around $85K. The F360 and C6Z are currently the only cars that I (being realistic) would own over my C5Z...
if you can afford the ferrari than you can afford the maintenance cost.
I can afford a Ferrari, but I'm not into spending that kind of money on taking care of a car. I was actually going to buy one a few years ago, but I spoke with some owners and a Ferrari shop who explained maintenance costs and what was involved. I've driven many over the years, including a 365gtb. Comparing a Ferrari to a ZO6 on paper doesn't begin to give one an understanding of the difference between the cars. A vette is a vette and a Porsche is a Porsche and A Ferrari is a Ferrari. They are all completely diffferent from each other in how they look and feel. Comparing et's and hp does not begin to make for an understanding of a Ferrari...or a Porsche or any other exotic.

and I'm still excited every time I approach my ZO6 for a drive!
If he's got the money, the Ferrari 360 would be the choice no doubt! Completely different animals. Although a stock C5Z would edge out a stock Modena in a straight line race, not everything is measured in just purely numbers and times. There's more to a sports car than just that.
But speaking of straight line racing, I do have a race lined up in a few weeks again a Ferrari Challenge Stradale with a Capristo Level 3 and no cats test pipes. I've heard that car is LOUD! Five times as loud as my car from what a buddy told me, and I have the B&B Bullets which aren't puny sounding. That should be a VERY close race because it's a lighter car than the stock 360 (but weighs about the same as a Z06) and makes more power (guessing it dynos 350-360rwhp). He does have the F1 auto clutch tranny so I need to bring my game as far as shifting. That's all the details I'll provide for now on here. Here's a pic of what I will be up against...
The 360 is loud and sweet sounding as I passed him - he was revving it to the max. My Z06 embarrassed the heck outta the driver though - he could not keep up. It was a beautiful car though...
And now you can get a nice C5Z for $20K (the bargain of a lifetime), so I'm not sure where you're going with the above statement. Or is it in reference to the age of this thread?
I figure that the only way you will see me in a Ferrari is if I win the lottery.. Then I would quit my job and have lots of cars like Jay Leno,, and hang out at Barrett Jackson and wheel and deal cars for my Museum of Cars.. In reality it will probably never happen.. So I'm stuck in my 02 Z06... Such a sad situation
If money was no consideration I'd take the 360 over a C5Z. It is though..so I drive a C5Z
A closer comparison would be the C6Z or ZR1 as they are in the same price ballpark of a used 360. I would definetly choose a new C6Z over the used 360.
