Don't you need ballz before they can shrink

149 MPH limited by the "governor" driving the car
Besides, even my Mazda with a governor goes faster than 120

Type "98 Corvette Road test" in your search engine and a Motor Trend long term test article will come up..........they say the following:

"wind buffeting above 130 was noticable"

And:

"For top speed, we observed 173.9"...........

but make him bet you first. I think he should be charged about $10.00 for his ignorance fee. You know the difference between ignorance and stupidity?
Ignorance is curable.

I told him that I had seen posts of speeds a lot faster and he said I was full of it.

You are correct.

Hi graybeard -

Where do they get this stuff?

You are 100% correct, and your friend is severely lacking in the truth.

best regards -

Jay Leno wrote an article a couple of years ago about renting a 'vette in Germany to drive on the Autobahn. Because German manufacturers limit their cars to 155, he was passing all of the high-end Porsches, Benzes, etc., doing about 170.

I've been to 145 in the wife's Z06...

Hey, that was what I was going to say - took me awhile to work up to it but hit 159 on the way back from Denmark last weekend...things are going by fast...even more than the speed is the ability of the car to slow itself down as someone surprises me and I need to slow from 159 to 85ish in about 1.5 seconds - glad I got upgraded brakes and new GS-D3's.

The only spped limiter I had with my 98 vert 6spd was my wife.
Depending on circumstances it could engage anywhere between 85 and the right foot all the way to the firewall. It was a very positive limiter & I have the black and blue marks on my arm/shoulder to prove it.
