Who is right?
Been a while since I've posted anything.
How fast have any of you had your vettes, legally of couse (at a track or drag strip. The reason I ask is this: A friend of mine says that all stock vettes have a govenor programmed into them that will not allow the car to go but so fast (120 mph). I told him that I had seen posts of speeds a lot faster and he said I was full of it.

c5s have a top speed around 175 no governor . the wind is the only thing that slows them down

He obviously has never been near an open road race. Lots of vettes and other cars hum along in excess of 120 mph.

We'll give your friend the benefit of the doubt that he has merely been deceived and is thus ill informed....

Your friend does not know what he is talking about. The only limit the Vette has is a drag limitation. Top speed for the C5 coupe is about 175 mph.

ask your friend if he wants a ride, that settle the debate.
Also does anyone know what the max speed the c5 body style is capable of doing?

Hehe... limited to 125 with a speedometer that goes to 200... I definitely don't think the GM engineers planned on slowing these cars down.
