Default Problem with vent control.

I have a 98 with the manual AC controls. The temp **** works, the fan speed works, but the vent position switch doesn't it blows thru all the opening no matter where I turn it.

you need to check the vac line on the back of the ****. It sounds like you have a leak.

I had the same problem on my 98, but with the electronic controls. Mine was due to the little vacuum line on the back of the intake manifold being disconnected. I had to pull the manifold to get back there to reconnect it, but it's worked perfectly ever since. I don't know if the manually-controlled A/C has the same setup, but you might want to take a look. Kind of a PITA, but not particularly difficult to fix. Good luck!

I had this issue - fixed today.

Battery acid ate thru my vacuum line completly - it was located under the battery tray.

I conntected the broken ends with some 1/8 vacuum line then taped the ends up.

Easy easy fix.
