I just bought a C5 6 speed and noticed that when I start to accelerate from a complete stop or accelerate in a higher gear the engine will stumble then begins to accelerate. There is no codes showing.
I've read some other threads of this problem but none seem to explain anything in detail other than it could be fuel, electrical, air....
It could be any number of things. You could have a fouled spark plug, an clogged injector, bad sensor, etc. While it may not be throwing any codes it might be wise to check the small stuff first and if that isn't the problem I would take it to a trusted mechanic and have them give it a once over.
Well...I ended up changing the plugs and while I was installing the plug wires back I happen to notice that on one of the wires, the insulation had completely worn through and exposing the core wire. I bought a new set of wires and sure enough....the car is purring like a kitten. I cannot beleive what a difference it made. It is so smooth on take-off and acceleration. That wire must have been shorting out
