Anyone know the secret to aligning the head light cover ? My 98's headlamp assembly was replaced back in 2004 and top cover alignment has been off since that repair. The misalignment I'm refering to is the gap measurement between the fender, front facia, and hood. Its the gap tolerance in a couple of areas thats off. As for being flat with the hood fender and facia surfaces its fine. Is there some adjustment that can be made to the whole assembly? It looks like a simple adjustment, I need to move it slightly back and toward the center of the hood about 1/8 inch. No biggie, just one of those things that I want to fix now that its getting colder outside.
I adjusted mine a couple of weeks ago. It is a simple job but requires patience. From what I recall, you need to remove the cover off the headlight assembly. it is held in place by four screws; two at the back and one on each side (don’t forget to remove first the wraparound black plastic piece) . Once the cover is removed you will expose its mounting structure . The mounting structure is attached with screws to the remainder of the headlight assembly. Those are the screws that allow the lateral adjustment. I played with those to set mine in the proper position.
