I recommend an Exide with the orbital technology which looks just like the Optima Red top but is cheaper at Sam's and has a little higher amps output. I got mine a few months ago for $99.

If you're looking for a Delco AGM factory-style battery, I don't think they make them anymore. Stick with a battery type that (theoretically at least) won't leak acid, because of the precarious position of the battery in relation to the BCM and associated wiring harnesses.

BTW, for those of you making recommendations to Tony, keep in mind that his address appears to be in ENGLAND
Don't just assume there's a Sams Club where he is.
I need to buy a new battery but am unable to locate one locally, any ideas? I live in Horley, Surrey RH6 9SX
Living in the UK most assuredly limits your options. I went back to the original equipment replacement GM Delco and have been very satisfied. I know folks swear by (sometimes at) Optimas, etc., but my last two Corvettes saw only Delco batteries and all performed well.
Best of luck and great work keeping the Corvette hobby alive in the hideously expensive UK!

...so far mine has been ok...its now 2 1/2 years old and I was told I could come in near the end of my GM warranty(3 year/36K mi.) and get a brand new one under warranty
This topic comes up on the UK boards all the time. There are some specialist battery dealers that can get hold of Optimas. I have Optima Red Tops in both the Vert and the Camaro and they've preformed well. Try posting the question on the CCUK website below:

Get a AGM battery (acid glass mat), it will not leak. SAM's is discontiuing this Exide, you can get some terrific deals ($27 !) if you find one. They are going to Energizer batteries.
