It never did that before
Ok---so I am backing out of my garage this morning and I am half way out (and of course I haven't even touched the gas yet) and the car just stops dead and dies So I put it in park and restart it and the DIC says "remove key-wait 10 seconds" So I shut it off---remove the key and wait 10 seconds---put the key back in --start her up---all is fine..
Is this just a fluke or should I be looking for something? It never did this before..
Possibly could be partially clogged injectors or fuel filter. Just a suggestion but try running some Techron concentrate fuel system cleaner through for the next couple tanks.

I see alot of people mentioning the column lock problem but I thought that was just for M6 mine is A4---maybe I should have mentioned that?? Sorry.. Will this be changing the suggestions???
That's right, Lori ... A4s don't have the column lock problem. You can test that by turning the steering wheel with the engine off, the car in Park, and the key turned to "Off". The steering wheel does not lock.
Mine's never done that particular little oddity. Maybe it was just a fluke. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
If you fueled up the evening before with a different fuel than usual chances are that may be the culprit. Had the same problem, removed key for 10 sec, restarted and no further problem. Column lock fixed prior-
Chevron Preimum only-

Well I can't remember when I filled her last so I guess that probably is not it. I will use the advise here and clean the key anyway and also use that Techron in my next few fill ups but I guess I should get the CLB done while I'm at it---can't hurt any I guess.
I should also number 1 probably stick with one station locally and number 2 I think I need to upgrade my gas. I have read where they say to use I believe over 91 but I think that the premium here is 89..Guess I need to move to super just in case..Is it that differnt for C5's from like maybe C4's?? My husband uses Premium (mid-grade 89) and he has never had a problem??
Would this be what everyone means by the "vette tax"??? Cripes this is becoming expensive and I haven't even started yet....
