Anyone straight pipe your C5?
Just was wondering how many of you out there have your exhaust straight piped from the cats back...I just can't see justifying paying so much for these exhaust systems people buy all the time (I know I was one of them when I put hooker headers and sidepipes on my C3)

Forum member HiLandR has the oem exhaust with cats with the exception of straight pipes with no mufflers and it sounds
This is how it sounds like with LG PRO Headers, no cats and straight pipes

The SLP Loud Mouth is the closest to straight pipes followed by the Borla XR-1.

No... you can buy just the back 1/2 of hte xr-1 setup, so it's just simply pipes.
Put that on and you have straights.

Hi RequiemNightmare -
Yup - I call it "Billy Bobbed" exhaust -
On my wifes 99 coupe - stock manifolds/cats and I had the mufflers cut off and welded pipes and some Heddman resonator tips in place -
and here is a sound clip -

My sincere apologies to Billy Boat exhaust - and thanks to wamara for the cool idea.
He has a similar setup on his Z06.
best regards -

Extremely late here, but did you need to make a hanger/bracket for the straight pipes where you welded on?

You revived an 18yr old thread to ask a question of a former member, who hasn't posted in 11yrs.
Yikes
