Why don't you own a C6???
I'm wondering why my fellow C5 brothers have not made the leap to a C6? List your reason(s).....I'll start, the biggest is affordability..It's not in the budget to buy a $50k car right now..Too many other things to do with that type of cash(new daily driver, home improvements)...The C5 is still bringing me lots of enjoyment as well!! So why haven't you made the move??

is my first thought.
1. I like my C5
2. I like my C5
3. I like my C5.
Would you like to know reason # 4?
Money is not playing into my decision, I just like my C5!

La ti friggin' dah, is what I say to that!
I have too many people now, asking me if mine is a "new one". Hells bells, if the average "Joe" on the street can't tell the difference, why should I bother with it?

OK, here goes:
- I like my C5 - it does everything well and only has 32K miles on it.
- Either selling or trading would not get me what I need to be able to make the leap into a C6 - just too much difference in money.
- My wife would kill me.
Seriously, the C6 is a very nice car, and if I could afford a one, I'd be really tempted to make the jump. But, for now, the C5 suits the needs just fine.

Head over heels in debt with the C5.
Like the C5 not in a hurry to get rid of it.
Problems I read about on C6 Gen scares me, I NEED a Vette for a DD and feel sick when I have to drive my truck
Hopefully rumors are true about bumping the horsepower in 08 another 25 or 50. Maybe by the time the 08's are used I'll be able to afford one or even better maybe my hard work will pay off and I'll get my own brand new in a few years with museum delivery

i'd really love to own a C6/Z06, but its strictly a matter of economics. although i could fit it into the budget, i won't because it would have to be financed and i'm not paying interest on accelerated depreciation. nor am i paying $60k for any car, no matter what car it may be. cars are a loser when it comes to the balance sheet. real property and financial investment is where its at.
even if i could easily afford it by plucking 100% cash down, i wouldn't do it for the same reasons as stated above. if you look at people who are building their money tree, they make wise choices. they don't buy brand new cars. they don't buy extravagently expensive 2 or 3 year old cars either.
and is so often true, its the journey there and the fantasy of it all.
so i'll wait for a nice used '07 or '08 C6/Z06 in 6-8 years from now, maybe.

Our C5 has 600 HP & 650 TQ & an swesome suspension...down-grading to a C6 is going in the wrong direction. The way I look at it, maybe the driver of that C6 Z06 I beat at the track is saying, "I should be driving a modified C5 instead."
However, even if we had a stock C5, the mariginal improvement in power of a C6 is not enough to off-set the less-than-desirable looks of a C6. IMHO the C5 has superior styling.

I will not get a C6 until I can afford a Z06, which I can not do right now.. But that time should come in the not too distant future

I was really lookig for a good a4-a6 C6 used, but prices here in FL were skyhigh.
So i ended up with a black 04 Z51 a4 with 9000 miles, so far i love the car, looks, cleaning it and driving it!

Because I can't stand the looks of the C6, Z06 or otherwise. The additional power is tempting, but I spend far more time looking at my car than I do using all the power I currently have...even though mine's only a bone stock C5 coupe.
The C5 has it all over the C6 styling wise.

Already working toward a C6-
1- sold the C5 before winter set in
2- after the first of the year, I'll go a-shopping since Corvette sales are generally slow in January in Chicago.

Personally I still think the C5 is a better bargin all the way around, and better on the track. The new Z though.... I'm still fending it off. Awesome car.
