The show last night was ok, I was a little disappointed with the 03 convert losing...I have an o1 trip black...The guy that hosts pinks is a dork and that is the biggest reason I have to change channels usually. It was nice to see some above average rides also. I was tired of seeing 83 Monte Carlos and 87 Mustangs...just my .02

yeah, i think the show will be much better when its all heads up, but as long as that host is there it will get on my nerves, i get so tired of seeing him sway from side to sidewaving his arms and spitting on everyone when he talks, and he looks like he needs to be in the porta potty when he flags the races...ok im done.

And his famous question, "Would you agree that you were out performed that last race?"

Yes, you stupid bastard, I just got my butt handed to my by a slow a$z car because I gave him 20 cars.

Thanks for the advice but I would never race for pinks anyway.... Just wondered if I would even have a chance. He brought it up and he has modified his ride. My Vette is my baby and wouldn't risk losing it.... It made for interesting water cooler banter.

Why in the world would anyone race for pinks?

Hell, just put some cash up if you want to get serious, but pinks? Give me a break.

I agree i would nevar race for pinks even if i thought my car was faster. Its a race and anything can happen one slip and thats it. that guy on pinks lost a race because his battery went dead that sucked. who knows if he would have won anyway but it still sucks, not worth it in my opinion.

All that "reality TV" bull crap makes it a stupid show, but I enjoy watching the cars run. Maybe the show will come to Englishtown someday.

Anyone who wants to race you for pinks either is extremely cocky and confident or has more under the hood than they are telling you. I had 2 of those experiences. One was in my camaro with a 350 with the holley intake and a camaro came up to me at our cruisin spot (many moons ago) with the back fenders flappin in the breeze and wanted to race me for pinks---either he thought because I was a girl I was dumb or he wanted to get rid of his POS---either way I told him to get to steppin cause if he wanted to race me with that he had a sleeper and I was no fool. I also had this with a friend in a Chevelle that supposedly only had a 305 against my T/A with a 403---he blew me away (again many many moons ago) and it should never have happened---he had NOS.

Never trust anyone that is willing to race for pinks cause they usually pick those they know they can beat..IMHO..

OK.....here is THE solution to all of this...........Record the darn program and then fast forward through all of the talking and . Most of the HP claims for these cars are either wildy optimistic or underated on purpose anyway......Watch only the actual races and you can watch the entire thing in about five minutes

In the first season that was true, but now you definitely lose your ride if you lose the race.

Besides the host, on that show one other thing that bothers me is the fact if you give the guy 7 cars, he is going to be 7 cars out of the starting line, meaning unless they have preped the track that far out as well as they would the starting line, there is no way they are going to get off the line as well as they would if they were heads up. They need to just strip the track the whole way down, or it would be even better if they found an abandoned stretch of road and did the races out there, minus the host.

I personally like the sandbagging aspect to the show, I mean its a race you are doing everything that you can to win that other guys car, why would you show him everything that you got if you dont need to. Makes it almost impossible for the other guy to negotiate if he doesnt know how fast you really are.

One of the funniest episodes was the guy whose car wouldn't go into second. Watching him beat on the transmission with a hammer was pretty funny. How do some of those cars ever pass tech inspection?

I don't see that he has the complete package to hook the power up for acceleration and speed. Weight, drive train, tires, traction.
Besides I think you have more to loose.
I would expect him to do a lot of fish tailing and spinning.

I saw the the heads up show. Better format than the old way. Nice to see some vettes too. 2 C5s and a C6 running 10.0. Are those guys on the forum? Anybody have any info on those cars?

Is this a 'resto rod' or fiberglass? Full fender or high boy? In '29, a lot of the body framework is still wood. Original fenders are REALLY thick metal and heavy. My 32 full fendered resto had a 400hp chevy and th400 running 3.90s and although it hauled azz.. I don't know it would have been fast enough to start racing for pinks.
If it really comes down to pinks.. throw a quick 100hp dry shot of giggle juice on the vette and enjoy cruizin your new hot rod.

A couple of people told me that on the show pinks you don't even really lose your car If you loose!? I still like the show though. They just had a straight up cash competition which was awesome!! Thats what you guys should try to do~Just Incase you really can loose your car...what If you got a crap start & loose...Not worth It to me I.M.H.O
That would kill me If my car was faster and I got a crap start and lost my ride....Not happening!!

They always got a chance to get their car back, and the race format caused the original pinks to fold. The new pinks race for money and is a lot more in line with real drag racing.
