From the story script that I read, the other man side swiped the guy in the vette in a white toyota Camry. When the driver of the corvette stopped to deal with the accident the other guy shot him and took his car.

I am not really sure if it was a car hijacking or an car accident that got out of control.

What ever happened in the accident it did not need to be resolved with this kind of violence.

I don't think anyone who had a gun on them would have had a chance as this was probably not foreseeable.

I am generally against the death penalty in most cases, but as far as i am concerned the police should of said he was resiting arrest and one between his eyes.

The real loss is for the family of the corvette driver, my deepest condolences.

First rule of a gunfight is bring a gun. Without a gun you are guaranteed to lose but with one you have a chance.

The criminal had a gun and raised the stakes to deadly force without provocation. If you are not prepared to meet this threat you will die.

This guy had zero chance of surviving this encounter.

I at least, will have a chance.

Your call.

I don't disagree with you, but unless you had a bullet proof shirt on at the time I don't think it would have mattered as you would not have been expecting it. I was in the armed services and I would not pull my gun out at every single incident only when I thought I was in eminent danger and I hardly would thing that a traffic accident would qualify.

You have no idea what went down and neither do I. The killer may or may not have suprised him. He may have threatened him before he pulled his gun. He may have pulled his gun 50 feet away and walked up and shot him.

Plenty of ways this could have went down that a person with a gun could have survived.

Zero ways to survive this encounter unarmed. The guy is dead.

Again, your call.

I choose to be armed.

That's horrible That's scary that the poor guy was killed just because of his car!! I feel bad for his children loosing their father~especially during the holidays
I'm glad they caught the Bast*rd that did this. One thing In the article I didn't really get though was the price of the Corvette?? Maybe It was a typo or whoever wrote the article doesn't know about Corvettes. That's not Important though~ That article was a heart breaker
*At least he didn't die suffering though~ Best wishes to his family

sorry if this post is ole but i couldnt resist.. if you are so against the death penaltly and arming yourself than so be it.. i, myself, will shoot to kill if my life is threatened, and i will be asked questions later.. no matter what the circumstance is.. if your some fanatical liberal, than just tell your hijacker that you understand why he has no job, raises his kids on welfare and foodstamps while still driving away on his cadalac with 24 inch rims, and still has 13 kids a year with no spouse... if your shot, proves your ignorance, i have no pitty..
