Battery Problems??

Has anyone with a Z manufactured after February, 2001 experienced a leaking battery?? I'm getting a little concerned after reading posts (nightmares) in other sections about leaking batteries. I might just change it out before hybernation next month. I'm exploring the Exide Orbital as well as the Optima as replacement choices.

Yes !!!! Had it warranteed! Bring it back to the dealer.Some 2000/2001 had defective batteries.

Cripey's did they change that for 02 ?

I hope they did. Seems the column lock is still an issue though.

I had the battery replaced on my '01 Z06 shortly after I bought it. It did not leak, but had dead cells and would not hold a charge for more than 5 minutes. Has been fine ever since.

FWIW! I installed a new Exide Orbital ($130) yesterday. Install took 10 minutes. I'm feeling more confortable now. Now if the CL bypass would only get here!
