I met a guy who just traded his vert for an XLR-V. Very nice ride but for a 1/3 of the price, I'll keep my Z06.

My first “true love” is the ’82 but it I had to sell one it’d be the left kidney…’cause I’ve decided I’m keeping both the Z and my ’82!

I had a rattle in my Z06 once too, it was two sawzall blades that I had dropped in the hatch. I took them out and the rattle went with them. I find very few posts of people complaining about rattles or squeeks and the ones who do, usualy turn out to have modded the car. Most rattles turn out to come from aftermarket exhaust systems or cars that have been lowered. You should also understand that these cars have very little sound deadening insulation. This is part of the keep it light philisophy that was a key part of the Z06 design. What you may be hearing could be road noise.
As far as the brakes go. You bought a race ready production car. A race ready production car means that it could go from the show room to the track and compete. To race you need certain things that you would not have on normal pasanger cars. One of the most important race ready items on the Z06 are the brakes. They are race ready brakes, and anyone who knows anything about racing brakes knows, they squeek and dust.
Perhaps this car just isn't the one for you. Maybe you would be happier with something quieter and more dependable. I hear the Honda Civic fits that bill.

For more info please go to my post " This may make some of you mad"
Sounds like you are one of those people who are so in love with the car, you cannot be objective about it's shortcomings.

Don't have any of those problems!
