Default HallTech & Blackwing Intakes ???

I am interested in the following mods for my 2002 (A4 2.73, stock except maybe the exhaust) roadster:

1) Intake -I want to install something that I can install with no cutting or difficult fit.
2) LG Longtube headers - Not sure between the Street and Pro. How much HP difference??
3) Dyno Tune (I intend to drive to Dallas to have headers and tune done by LG).

Can you help????? TIA
1) Is there any documented difference between the Halltech & Blackwing intakes?
2) Are there documented gains for either?
3) Are they both easy to install?
4) Anyone know the difference in HP between the LG Street & LG Pro?

Thanks Guys - J

The Halltech and Blackwing intakes are very similar when it comes to a C5 that is not producing very high HP numbers. The larger airbridge of the Halltech (vs the stock airbridge that the Blackwing uses) may come in handy later on if power increases are implemented. As for power increases, check my sig.
Remember, though that these are warm air systems that will allow the ECU to retard timing when it senses temps above 100F. Fortunately, you can do a couple of things to prevent this from happening:
1. Open up your fog light panels: this won't do much when you are creeping along in traffic, but it will lower intake temps at moderate to high speeds.

2. Open up the radiator cover beneath the air filter. My CAI mod includes a polycarb scoop and stainless steel screen. Cost of materials is less than $40.

I can't tell you much about the headers, since I live in CA and LTs are not allowed. Superchargers are okay, but not headers - go figure!

If you're interested in a complete SLP/DONALDSON BLACKWING system, I have one in the classified section. It's complete with the "ice box cover" if you decide to cut your shroud for true cold air intake. You can use the system w/o the cover and not cut the shroud.

I think the Halltech and Blackwing produce similar results on the car. Either would be a good choice IMO.

I've been running the Halltech for about 3 months now, and I'm very happy with it. No dyno, but I'd guess it at 8-10hp with no tune. The real gains are in throttle response and the improved induction sound, IMO. The Blackwing seems like a nice unit, but you only get the filter and housing. For about the same price, the Halltech replaces everything up to the TB coupler.

BTW- if cost is an object, keep an eye on the Parts section. I picked mine up for >1/2 the price of new in great shape.

I purchased a Halltech air bridge and connected it to my already installed Blackwing filter. I can feel the rapid responce. Like mentioned and what i did was cut the backs out of the fog light area. I moved the temp sensor from the air bridge and installed it in the Blackwing housing next to the gauge on the Blackwing, this relocation of the sensor tricks the ecu with cooler temp.
I also have long tube headers..they are a great mod.
