Their claim sounds a bit optimistic. It still boils down to how well the tires and their adhesion is, something that doesn't change even if the brakes can stop a locomotive.

Very true, and perfectly logical, but under the best of conditions for both stock and Ti set-ups with the best tires and best dry road conditions that is an impressive distance to save in stopping if it were true, or even close to true, and to save on the heating and cooling would probably also be sort of amazing, of course this is just my .02 of what I read.
I wish we could have known about your afternoon job before hand, I would have really liked to know what the exact weight difference between the stock "Z06" rotors and those new ones that you bought were. I have looked up the titanium rotors and they are $1,000 each rotor. and the matching calipers are almost a grand a piece too, easily add up to $7-$8 grand for a complete set-up, but with the huge noticable weight difference (documented) they are also claiming a difference in stopping distances of something like:
Stock 60 MPH to zero 135 - 145 feet
Ti set-up 60 MPH to zero 75 - 85 feet
And a lot less heat build up and quicker cooldown,
But that is a lot of cash.
Sorry to get sidetracked on your thread. That is a very nice set-up that you got, and a great price, and it looks killer.
I remember seeing 60-0 distances in the 110-115ft range for the stock C5 Z06 brake setups. Most of the improvement is not the 60-0 braking but the repeatablility of the performance of the braking over and over where the stock brakes would fade. Also, high speed braking is much better due to the larger surface area and increased clamping force of the calipers.
As was said before, brakes only stop as well as the tires. If I had Hoosier 305s all the way around I could probably pull off some sub 90ft 60-0 distances. As my car sits I doubt I could get lower than 110ft if that.

Yeah those numbers on the stopping distances were from memory, and it may not be real close to what they had posted, although I did think it was a huge difference.
You'll have to post another thread after a few times around the track with your new set-up, I'm sure it will be a big difference
Also add some pictures of your Z with the new setup and wheels on it too.
The coilovers and the sways are Pfadt Racing. Very nice setup for a reasonable price. The handling is amazing. Now the only thing in my suspension that needs to be upgraded is my tires. PS2s coming as soon as my rears wear out. Unless someone wants to buy some Firestone Wide Oval 295s with about 3000 miles on them.
I was thinking about those sway bars...How do you like them? I'm torn between those and the T-1's....although the weight savings off the PFADT's are nice!
