Hi, I'm the proud new owner of a 02 C5 Vert & I got to tell ya fellows, I'm in Love. I cant wait to start chating with yall about this great American muscle car. My baby is purely stock but it's performance is very very impressive. Family members have a bet on how long it will take me to get my first ticket. Been riding for a month now, so far, so good. Dont get me wrong, I don't dog my baby. It's just that i need to feel it do what it it was made to do every now and again. I do have a few issues about the car though but I'm sure yall will help me with these issues in the future.
Congrats! and Welcome to the C5 section.
You will find it friendly and very helpful in here.
PLease read the stickies at the top of the C5 General and C5 Technical sections. The once called weights, ratios. measrues etc is full of info about common issues and fixes.
The one on Column lock is an absolute must read.
There are a few common issues that have good advice and DIY fixes.
Column lock
Dim AC display
failure to lock/unlock using the fob
leaking driver side rear diff seal
pegged oil pressure sensor
one side of the heating system being hot while the other is cold
Again welcome to the family and ask away....
Don't forget to wave...
Hello from Monroe, and man the Corvette is the best car I have ever owned. I bought mine in March and have put 17k on her, with nary a problem except my headlight gear is eating itself . Make sure to warm her up properly and to get on it at least once per day.
Welcome from Lafayette. Check out the Baton Rouge Corvette Club, there are some really nice folks there. The bad thing about owning a C5 in Louisiana is the condition of the roads. If you have a chance, take the drive to the National Corvette Museum in May for the Corvette Forum Cruise In. I Guarantee you will love it.
