That means you got 2.73 gears. They suck. I still have mine but I am looking at some 3.42s in the near future.

I think I know what you mean. When I had my fully stock C5 dynoed (back in 02), there was a slight hiccup that you can see on the chart. It doesn't seem to hurt anything and also doesn't seem to happen all the time.

throttle by wire verses throttle by cable!!!!

torque management!! not letting you break things. at least thats what it thinks. it will do this when ever it wants too. these have a little electric motor that opens the throttle body. rather than a actual cable attached to the gas pedal doing it mechanically

i dont like throttle by wire. but i got used to it. i see you have a avalanche in your avatar. it also could have the same type throttle unit. for sure if it is a 8.0L huge block. the ultimate of the line lag mobile with huge power. just unable to use its full potential right out of the gate.

Could be Traction Control. After I added CAI. New intake maifold, 80MM TB; headers and cat back, mu car hesitated. I turned off TC and the problem went away.

Good point! All that torque tends to kick it in at times.

You didn't say whether the car is a manual or automatic. The autos (I have and thoroughly enjoy one) will dial back the timing just a bit to protect the transmission. I imagine the manuals do the same thing, but perhaps they dial back a little less? I have learned to roll on the power rather than nailing it. The car moves out of the slot much quicker.

Get a predator or other programmer and turn off the torque management
