I just got a new set of GS D3's put on my car and I must say "WOW"...
what a difference they made in my ride. They stick to the road and the traction on wet is superb. I got rid of the EMT's also so I could hear my passenger talk. I knew the EMT's were loud but it's soooooo...nice now.
If you are ready for new tires these are great. (IMO of course)
There simply are no better all-around tires for a C5. Handling (dry or wet), comfort (much less side-hopping), quietness, and longevity are why the GSD3s rule the road.
I was caught in a surprise shower this morning on the way to work and was reminded of how well these things handle. It feels like I driving on a dry road! Amazing.

After two sets of the Eagle F1 run flats I switched to the GS D3's a year ago!!!! aside from the quieter ride, What a difference, up here in the Pacific NW, there is no better tire IMO for ME!!! No hydroplaning even in the heaviest of rain which by the way we had last week!! Merry Christmas to all
I have the F1 GS D3s on my daily driver (Audi A4) and just took them off this weekend to put on my all-season tires. I'd forgotten how good they are -- the all season tires just stink in comparison.
When my vette's runflats wear out, It's F1s for me, too...
$$$ Dec 2004 Discount Tire Federal Way WA. 2 GS D3 245/45ZR-17's front $216.99 each 2 GS D3 275/40ZR-18's rear $298.99 each including balancing lifetime all the other if anything happens to the tire stuff included. I thought I got them a year ago but looks like it was 2 years ;-) Anyway I have 95k on the car now and the tires were installed at 70,531, tires look new!!!

I'm glad to hear this because when I bought mine last summer I was worried about longevity after the Goodyear guy told me, "If you don't hot rod it much, you might get 25K out of them".
I love these tires I never knew how good my exhaust sounded until I put the GSD3's on!

Those are great tires. I was going to get them but I got a great deal on Goodrich TA KDs. Better ride, quiet and sticky. I like your tread pattern better though.
Count me in as a proponent of the D3's. Put mine on this spring, have about 2500 miles on them. Very quiet compared to the runflats and a much better ride. They are expensive compared to some others but they are on a vette. I have never quite understood the rational of spending the money we do on a sports car and the get cheap when it comes to where the rubber hits the road. Oh well!!!

I've had mine for 2+ years. ALL my driving is city. Start/Stop cycles. I am a little agressive on them, but nowhere near extreme. They have about 15,000 on them, and I'm looking to replace probably in the next 3-5000 miles. Should be down to the wear indicators by then. All even wearing between fronts and rears.
I had a grin from ear to ear when I got them. Still got that same grin. An amazing tire. They are fantastic in summer and in the rain. But, I suppose like any tire, they can slip a little when the tire and the road is cold on certain kinds of surfaces. Still best tire going IMO.
Changed to these from the original runflats. We hadn't gone a 1/2 block and my gf said, I can already tell the difference. So much quieter and smoother. Now with cam and headers it's got louder again, but this loud i like.
I have the GSD3's on my GTO and they are great tires.
When we went to change the runflats on the Vette I called TireRack and they turned me on to the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position tires. They don't have the sexy tread pattern of the GY's but I'd go head to head with them anyday.
They're much quieter then the GY's, they have a more predicatible slippage and they are rotatable, theoretically making them last longer. Plus they are cheaper overall. Wet or dry both tires are tops in traction.
Not in any way trying to knock the D3's but give the Bridgestone's a look before you decide.
Have the GS-D3 close to 3years now. I'm pretty aggressive when driving twisties. The first thing I noticed is that they did not trigger the active handling as much as the GY EMTs did. To me that says that they were slipping less than the EMTs. I autocross and I would put them pretty close to the almost race rubber Kumhos. Definitely better than the EMTs. Yeah I carry a repair kit: plugs, plug tools, cleaner, pliers, air compressor/emergency light. On longer trips will also carry a small jack. In real emergencies when one has to get out of Dodge, I even carry an aerosol type sealers (fix-a-flat). It will kill the sensor but better the sensor than me. Enjoy the tires
