Lubing the hinges AND the latch with the white lithium grease worked perfectly for me. No more having to shut the door to pop the lid. Treating the the seal with a bit of silicon grease helps too.

TEXHAWK0 Mine pops up just enough to get a crowbar under the corner. The crowbar is kind of a pain to carry around, so I may try the door slam method.
I would open the door, flip the trunk release button next to driver seat, then shut drivers door...walk around to the rear....trunks open
