It should pop up about 1 1/2" when you hit the trunk release button and then you have to manually pull it up. If it doesnt pop up at all then you need to get it looked at.
You can adjust it by backing out the rubber stops located on each end of the trunk lid. Turn them out a little at a time, equally, for the minimum that will allow you to open the trunk.
The easiest way to solve your problem is simply to spray some WD40 on the lock/latch mechanism, and voila!
The fault I found in mine was that the solenoid released the latch assy. but the latch itself wasn't retracting quickly enough. I did the WD-40 thing and it worked for about a year. This year I am trying the lithium spray grease. So far so good.
The WD 40 is the easiest fix, or you can close the door with windows up and it will pop it up. There is also a vendor on the forum that sells a neat little latch that forces up the lid. Don't take it to anyone to look at...they won't have a clue.
When i hit the trunk release the lock disengages but the lid dosent pop up so i have to grab the edges and pull up . Is that normal?
I see this post every once and a while, it should be in the fix's. What happenes is your latch assembly is loose and dropped. You can tighten it by removing the licence plate assembly and with a extension and 10mm socket loosen it, raise it, and tighten it. works fine afterward.
Must be a Z06. Lotsa posts. I am still dealing with a solutionfor my Z. In one of the posts they do have a retro fit install that pops it up elctrically. Good luck

WD40 was my fix! Easiest one to try first! Just be sure to have some rags handy so you don't get it on your carpet.
