I can relate to that. Owning a vette has definitely lost its luster. It used to be Corvette owners were Corvette people. Nowadays, it's a bunch of people that just wanna go fast. That, combined with banks that'll hand out a loan to any Tom, Dick, and Harry and you have too wide a spectrum of Corvette owners. They've killed the prestige.

Time for a Viper or a GT3.

i have to agree, that the first quote is im sure banks don't even pull credit reports anymore, and nobody that buys vipers or porsches "just wants to go fast" they all do it because they are elite and everyone worships them....come on its not like the spectrum of corvette owners has ever been all that narrow. in fact i think the wider it is the better, what fun is it when everyone is the same age, makes the same amount of money in the same field, and comes from the same background?

Still haven't gotten bored with mine 6 years after buying it. Simple solution - just drive it more. Even in the winter there are days you can get the car out and enjoy the ride.

However, I'm just finding that I'm getting a bit bored with it. It's nice to put the top down in the summer and cruise around a bit, but with a 2 hour commute daily for work and that, I just don't seem to drive it that much and then it's parked all winter. I guess that I'm not sure if I'm just bored with the car or just sick of making payments on a car that I only drive about 5K miles a year. Now I'm thinking that with a ton of equity in the car is it really worth keeping and losing more money yearly on a car because these C5's, although great cars, are never going to appreciate.
What do you all think?
Sell it to someone who will appreciate it, like you used to.
I bought my '01 C5 coupe new. I previously had a C4 and a C3, along with many other sports cars along the way. I used to sell them when I got that bored feeling . . . just to feel 3-6 months later that I made a big mistake selling the previous car in the first place. I've almost sold this one a couple of times, until I came to my senses and figured out that my C5 is a really one of the most fun cars to drive, and at a reasonable cost.
When I'm feeling bored, I go for a drive and find winding back roads where I can have more fun and challenge. I now have about 10 different roadways where each offers it's own driving challenges and excitement. These road courses that I've found, really put you in touch with the car and it's capabilities, and help develop your driving skills.
Modding also keeps it interesting. Even small mods make the car feel newer or different.
I've regretted selling most of the toys that I've owned over the years, as I always wish I had not sold them afterwards. And, it always cost more to replace them when I realized that I couldn't stand to live without them in the first place.
