Lug nut Torque
Hi, I need to remove my wheels to install splash guards, anyone know the spec on lug nut torque? My car is an '04 with the high-polished rims.

Search the sticky at the top of C5 General, should be there... weights, measurements, etc...

Edit. Use a impact wrench to put them on and tighten to 85-90 then torque down to 100 ft lbs.
I also dont use those chrome capped lug nuts, dont like them. I use some hardened lug nuts I got from napa, about $1.10 each.
But then again, my wheels get beat to chit.

It may be over-kill but I torque to 80 then 90 then 100 in the star pattern.

10-4, We usually do that too at the track, but go 60-80-100
Either way is fine I'm sure

I torque mine down to a final setting of 100 ft/lbs. But, I do it in a progressive fashion - 60, then 80 and finally 100.
