Default Really random exhaust question.

Has anyone ever seen side exit exhaust on a Z06 or any C5 other than the C5R? I've toyed with the thought in my head, but I wonder if anyone has ever actually tried it. Thanks in advance.

I would think you'd run into ground clearance issues with any under the rocker panel side-exit exhaust. The factory tucks the pipes up in the tunnel, and it'd be very vulnerable to damage, if run out the sides.

You have you battery and computer on the right side of the car.

It could be done, but not for street use.

Side skirts will hide the side pipes. Many guys have serious looked at this for racing. The logistics just does not warrent any HP beneffit.

But yes it does look cool

Here is a pic of the C6r headers.

RFember the C5R and C6r were wider bodies

You'd have to purchase the racing wide body for the car, and then fabricate the header which would go OVER the frame rail in the front quarter panel and down the outside of the frame rail at the rocker panel - as is pictured above on the C6R. That's also what they did on the C5R.
