Congratulations!

this is exactly what happened when I saw my car. I found it on the net and KNEW it was the one. I drove to Dallas and got it within just a couple of days. There was a special tinglng when I saw her, just like when I fell in love with my wife (well, almost ).

Congrats on the new car
Your story sounds like mine last year I was on the hunt for a new c6 vert and nothing and I mean nothing else would do. I drove up to a dealer that was about a hundred miles from home to talk to a salesman that had told me previously he would get me one at close to employee price, I took my wife and grandson with me and when we pulled into the dealers my wife pointed out a red vert next to the drive as we pulled in and I said no way that's an old one and nothing but an 05 will do. So while I'm inside talking to the salesman they went out to look at the one we saw as we pulled up. Next thing I know my grandson comes back in and tells me grandma wants me to come look at this car, I say it's not what I want. Then she comes in and says you really have to look at this car. I asked why she says 1st of all it's a six speed like you want 2nd it doesn't have a scratch on it 3rd red is one of the colors you wanted and 4th it only has 3,000 miles on it, I say you mean 30,000 that's a 99 no way it has 3K on it, well you know how it is you can't ignore the better half so i went out to look at it and she's right. So my grandson and I took it for a ride and that was all it took, I went back beat the dealer down a grand and bought it on the spot. Thing is without their pushing me to go look at it I would have walk right by it. Sure am glad I listened to them, saved me a whole bunch of money and I just love this car.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this board and more importantly, my dream car! A ZO6 to boot

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am looking forward to many miles of fun driving and posts here on the forum!! I'm trying to read up on the C5 here in the forums...I've got to decode my RPO's to figure out what options I have and those that I'm missing. I've also got to take some pictures and post them here. I've also got to relearn driving stick...it's been many years since my short ownership of a '95 Z28 and MANY more since my '78 Datsun 280Z.

Oh, and I've got to drive the darn thing

Congrats and welcome to the Forum.
I can relate to the "waited too long" comment. I bought my first corvette in 2003...a 50th AE Vert sight unseen, new from a dealer in 2003. When I went to pick it up (and trade in my 1992 Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible on it) it was way across the shop in the far corner. I remember feeling a little disappointed that it didn't have the sexy curves of the C3's of my childhood. As I walked across the shop to where the car was I remember getting more and more excited and thinking that perhaps the shape was sexy after all. By the time I got up to the car I was smitten and can't imagine loving a car more than I love the 50th AE vert. It is an incredible ride. Smooth, fast and sexy.
Glad you joined the brotherhood of corvette owners! Save the wave!
