Default hvac question

I am new to the forums (bought a c5 off of here ) and the car i bought doesnt have working hvac lights at night. The lcd screen works but none of the lights work. I have read a few posts stating that the soldering on the hvac is crap and that causes the lights to go dim, but mine are completely out. Is there a fuse im missing, or is this the same problem other have had? Thanks in advance, Chase

If all of the lights are out, then there is some issue with other than individual lamps. I am one of those who had to solder in new lamps. The power comes from the dimming control circuit. Have you removed it to look and see if the connector is plugged in all the way? I have a wiring CD at home for my '99 but am at work right now. If I don't forget, I'll look at the wiring and see what I can find.

I havent checked the plug yet. If that isnt the problem i need to get a diagram and test the wires and make sure they have power. I want to fix this before I install leds in the car though. Thanks for the help, Chase.
