I think the CCW's are polished so to much maintenance and dollars for me.

The 19 x 11 Z07 wheel according to LAPD weighs 36 pounds which is 15 pounds heavier than your stock wheel. Way to much.

I'm considering two choices:

The best cost wise, for instance, is the C6 Z06 chrome wheels. 18 x 8.5 front with 245 x 40 tires and 18 x 9.5 rear with 275 x 40 x 18 tires. These weigh a little more than stock but can be offset by going with non run flat tires. A 18 x 9.5 weighs about 26.2 pounds. Wheels and Goodyear D3 tires about $2000.

You have to stay away from 19 inch cast wheels.

My other choice is the SSR GT3 wheels. 18 x 9.5 inch front and 19 x 11 inch rear. The 18 inch weighs 24.7 pounds. The 19 inch weighs 27.8 pounds. Again going with non run flats. The SSR's can be bought from Corvette Garage for about $2500. These are painted centers and a SS polished rim. Wheels and PS2 tires about $4000.

For information sake a stock front wheel weighs about 19 pounds and a stock rear wheel weighs about 22 pounds (wheels only). Going from run flats to non run flats you can save about 5 pounds front and about 7 pounds rear (tires only).

Depending on size a 19 inch tire weighs about 2 pounds more than an 18 inch tire.

Personally, I'm not a fan of motorsport wheels. I think that the fake rivets make the wheels look "cheap". I will be selling the chrome Z06 motorsports that came on my car in favor of a set of black Z06 non-motorsport wheels.

I don't think you can go wrong on these GM new oem polished Z16 wheels offered by HOUSE OF WHEELS, a site supporting vendor...I'm a little biased on these wheels though.

I fell in love with the CCW 505a's on this forum, but wanted them in chrome. After a little research, I discovered that I could get chrome ones through West Coast Corvettes. My bubble was burst when I learned that I could only get them in a wheel/tire package, which was a little too expensive for me at the time. The more I saw them, the more I wanted them. I finally decided that life is too short and took the plunge. It took me several months to pay for them, but its one of the best mods I've done to my car.

I was having trouble "pulling the trigger" on a set of wheels too. I finally gave in and ordered them and thought that I'd worry about the money issue later. I'm so glad I did order them. The wheels make the car look so much better and I ALWAYS get compliments on them - even a few offers to buy them.

what do u suggest for a 99 torch red coupe
Wait and do whats right...eventually your going to buy other things for the car. I think your better off not setteling, and get less things that you like better rather than more that are affordable. Your car can have 1 million mods but if they arent so great who cares...but if you have 2-3 real nice mods your better off...sometimes less is more!

They are definately more work to clean than chrome but they aren't that bad. I've only polished mine once in the last 4 months or so and they still look good. Just apply some kind of sealant/wax after the polish and all you will have to do after a wash is wipe them down. I may polish mine again in another month or so, when the weather starts to warm up so that will be the equivalent of polishing about twice a year.

I started with chrome wagon wheels and then chrome thin spokes, knowing I wanted CCW's all along....don't waste your
time or money and just get what you want.....even if you have to wait a bit longer..!!

Less than $1000.00 shipped for BRAND NEW OEM Z06 polished wheels. Best of all, they are light weight and can handle some big meats!
