Gee I guess at 25 I'm old now The cool thing about the vette is that it brings together people of all ages. The local scene here is great... you've got people of all ages. I found that it's much more fun if you just do general car stuff, and don't make it brand or age exclusive.
Around here we have mod parties at my house almost monthly... people from all parts of the car scene from imports, to stangs, to lowriders come over, hang out, and turna wrench or BS.
Then everyone cruises over to the local car hangout at Jenro's for some fun.
Here's the perfect summary pics for what Corvette ownership means to me...
Young and old... fat and skinny... ugly and handsome.... all together for one thing... making fun of Gary (GBVette) and trying to ruin Tom's (Y2kvert4me) car
I'm 25. So I'm too old for it but even when I was younger I liked to talk and listen to those of older age. They are wiser and they have some great car storys. I don't see a problem with haveing those under 21 get together. Maybe we older peeps need to have our own meet, just for the intelligent
I'll be 27 the end of this month. I had just turned 26 when I bought my first C5.
Hard to believe I'm not considered a young gun anymore. You should see the Corvette group here in San Diego. Only one other guy my age with a vette and he's got a 6spd swapped C4.
It does'nt really matter how old you are because when we get together with other vette owners we all have fun and your age does'nt mean a thing, so lets all have a good time together no matter how old we are.
Well Ive kind of just sat back and watched this post unfold, and I have to say some of the pholiphies that are brought on by one of our younger members are just a close minded. I mean how many of us really want to go out and get drunk and then hop behind the wheel of our vettes. Im 23 and I know for sure that I have no desire to get caughte behind the wheel of a black vette leaving a bar.
This started out as a pretty decent idea, there is quite a few of us younger guys on the board but the age cutoff is a little tough. If something like this was actually going to work it would need to be at a national location and there would have to be enough of us that would be able to come for it to be worth the time and exspense. Myself Im thinkin a dragon run, spring break in daytona, bowling green...something like that. We would need a few people to plan the whole thing, set an excat time and place, location, plans that way we can get as many people there as possible.
This is why the "old guys" have such good turnouts, is becuase of organizaton and planning. Lift the age limit up to something reasonable like 35 and lets party. Just as long as its less than a 1000 miles away I have no problem going....

im just curious...who said anything about gettin drunk and/or getting behind the wheel after drinking?
When I was a teenager we would all meet downtown after we took our dates home and go to the local dragstrip just outside of town or just sit around and talk. It was a world of fun. I'm 64 now and remember what it was like to be young. Go for it, and be happy and be safe.
I dont know, im 21 now, I have a TT vette, and the goverment is paying for my college and mods. not a bad deal. you should come to capitol raceway when I bring my car back down

im 21.....that too OLD? and a dry weekend? cmon now.....us corvette owners like to have a few drinks and tell a few stories at the bars....as for the under 21 crowd, we can tell you stories when we get out of the bars...haha but i do like this idea of getting a young group of vette owners together... i'd be in
BTW that does not promote getting behind the wheel after those drinks at the bar! absolutly NOT!

An event like this would give us a time to socialize with our peers in a specific bracket, those unable to drink, and have a good time without those influences.
