Default Long Live the Optima

Well, I knew it was going to happen. She hadnt been doing well the past year. There were the typical signs of impending failure, low voltage readings on startup, trouble if she hadnt been started in 4-5 days, etc.

Today I went on a 45 min Highway drive to a corvette get together at restaraunt. Before the trip I had to jump her with my DD. When it came time for me to leave the restaraunt, I needed a quick jump. Poor girl couldnt even take an alternator charge on a 45 min highway trip

We've been trough alot the past 6 years.

The funeral is planned for next weekend along with her replacement

I wouldn't complain after 6 years. Unless of course the battery leaked all over the car like the AC Delco did in the Camaro.

If it makes you feel any better my RedTop died last year after three faithful years of service.

Once a red top is dead does it take awhile to charge it back up? Had mine on the charger overnight and the next day it would not crank the car over.

Mine died around 1 months before the warranty was up. Thanks God it was within the warranty period so I'm stuck with another one but at least it was free.

The Red Top in my car has been in there for about 5 years, 3 months and still doing well. Hopefully I get as long out of it as you did yours.
