Does anyone have an opinion about the seat covers from Leatherseats.com. They were on E-Bay, and they look pretty good for the price

Don't know anything about them, but don't think they are a CF Vendor. They also would be a competitor for any CF Vendor that sells seats and, as a result, comparisons made here about this ebay seller most likely would be frowned upon.

Good luck with finding your seats.

Some recent eBay feedback on them:

Feb 07: The worst co I have ever had to deal with.
Dec 06: Looks good, but does not match factory pattern - needs many modification, cuts.

A couple of guys on the Monte Carlo SS forum have used those seat covers, but they commented that the leather wasn't great. Kind of what you pay for is what you get. As there aren't any manufacturers of leather for the 4th generation Monte Carlos, they were happy with what they got. But, for your Vette, I'd do Vette Essentials or if they are a little too pricey for you, then I'd check Mid America.

They sent me some color samples last week and I thought the quality of the leather was very good. Maybe not up to Vette Essentials standards but they are not as expensive as VE either.

Just my .02

Ed Koch makes nice leather seat cover replacements. Standard seat covers should cost in the 550.00 range

I've installed a set for a friend in his C5. They fit well, but I would have to agree - they are not all leather. In his case, they solved a problem, they looked more than just presentable and they didn't cost a lot.

He wasn't sure how long he would have his car, and as it turned out, he traded it on a new C6.

I am aware of that, I wasn't implying that they were. I was simply saying that these are not. I am not saying that they are bad either, just simply stating my observation from experience.

Just a note:

On another Corvette site these skins were really popular when they were first offered.

Price was about 1/2 of VE's, and a lot of those members went for the product offered.

After about a month or so, posts soon appeared by people that had them delivered - there were none that were very complementary

If I recall correctly, the vendor was a 'supporting vendor' on the site - and soon was removed as same , specifically because of the issues.

So - be aware of the company's past performance.

Better to get the best (VettEsentials) from the get go.

If they are within your budget, go with the Vette Essentials covers. They are top quality. Otherwise, the Mid-America ones are good for the price.

I just got seats, center console, door pulls, e brake and shift boot for around $1200 from Leatherseats.com

I would do it again if I had to, but I also understood what I was getting.
Leatherseats.com Info

The back, bottom cushion sides and front are vinyl. Everywhere you make contact with the seat is leather.

The release tab on the back of the seat is not Pre cut for you. VE Pre cuts it.

VE has a Pocket sewn in to the back panel.

The center cushion uses Zip Ties to hold it in place. VE uses the factory plastic clasps to hold it in place.
In my opinion it does the same thing and you will never see it.

The door pulls were not complete. I had to trim the excess material and glue (3m 77 adhesive spray) the sides over before installation.
While not earth shattering, it was not a plug n’ play as some folks might expect.

In MY situation, I sent them my Cores and they had a 2 day turn around. They swapped out the center console, and e brake skins for free. Plus the plastic collar on the shift boot was broken and they repaired for free.

The only negative I can say is that any email correspondence was not replied to until late in the evening. Common for a small business.

I took this picture BEFORE I worked out the wrinkles with a hair dryer.

Cheers
Chad

I disagree, Stay away from Mid America seat covers. I have a set, paid close to $1,200 for custom two-tone skins. They have been a nightmare. Had to pay a professional big bucks to install them because the zippers were crap and I have only had them a couple of months and they are wearing out on the sides already. They also do not fit right even after paying for the profession install. Never ever buy Mid America seat covers!!!!!
