You own a $ 50,000 plus car and you are worried about the cost of a V1? Get a life, also there is a much better way to mount the V1 wihtout going to the mirror, but because you are so CHEAP, I'm not going to tell you.

I had a V1, great unit, but all it did was tell me I was hit with a laser. Still got the tickets. Not one can alert you to laser before you are hit, so unless your local leos are using radar, save your money.

Bottom line find out what they use in your area and where you drive. If they all are using laser like here in the Atlanta area, save your $$$ I sold mine
Laser is a completly different matter. As you mentioned, Valentine (like any laser detector), will basically only tell you you've been nailed by laser and usually by then it's too late.
Check out Blinder M-40 or Escort Laser Shifter. They deal specifically with laser and laser only. My Laser Shifter has saved my bacon on three separate occasions. Either one gives you a strong fighting chance against laser.

wow.

I use the tried-and-true suction cups and have it sitting to the left/up against my rear view mirror. My remote display sits in the ash tray. You won't know how you lived without it!

You are going to be in the back of pack playing slow-down-and-then-catch-up. I'm the one who will be out in front with the V1 going.

I have mine mounted all the way in the top left corner of my windshield. I get good coverage both in front and behind, the display is easily viewable, all the wiring can be hidden in the a-pillar, and it's easily reachable to adjust volume or mute when getting false-positives...

Congratulations on your v1 purchase! Vettemods bracket works great! You might want to invest in v1's remote signal option for your convertable. It places the bright signal of the v1 at a lower level where you'll be less noticeable from behind and won't get tag alongs and tailgaters. v1's like a xmas tree at night in a vert.

my IT **** set up doesn't allow me pics just an X. So if you have the remote set up, where do you mount the V1 or do you turn off the lights. Although I'm 6'3" and anything low I don't use much.

My v1 is mounted with the vettemods bracket between rear view mirror and passenger visor. V1 remote is mounted in my ashtray compartment( it fits perfect). V1 does not have a dark mode so it lights up unless you utilize the remote signal accessory (not included). Other good locations I've seen here on forum is an A pillar mount settup. Audible signals still emits from V1 main unit. I hope I'm helping you and not just confusing the sh** out of you.
