It is nice to see the younger Corvette generation piping up here.
I thought they ALL drove Honda civics with tail pipes bigger around than their heads!
I was 14. It was 1967. My dad managed the local Goodyear store. They had a 64/65 coupe in for service. We had to take it for a road test. From that time on I had to get me one.
It took till 1984 but I got one ,a 1961. Still have it and I just got a 2000 FRC.
I was about 14 and the kid across the street for his college graduation got 1962 fulie, black with red interior. I was in lust when I first saw it. He did take me for ride once.
I was born in 1952, yet I was around five years old before I recall seeing my first Corvette. It was a Pennant Blue 1954 or 1955 going down the road in front of our neighborhood. It stopped me in my tracks because it was so different and so LOW. From that point on, I always paid attention to every Corvette I saw. Even though I was very young at that time, I had always loved cars. My parents said I could tell them what brand cars were when I was three or four years old. They assume I got this from watching commercials on TV because I couldn't read yet.
When I was in my first year of college, I made friends with a guy who had a Safari Yellow 1968 Corvette convertible. I used to ride around with him in that car with the top down and that is what sealed the deal for me. A few months later, I bought a Nassau Blue 1966 327/350 HP, 4-speed coupe. I've had them ever since and am now on car #13!
My signature says it all!
I was elevan years old when I sat in the first 1953 vette in Lustine chev . It was the coolest thing I had ever seen, I was sitting there in the drivers seat daydreaming when the salesman chased me & my friends out. Bummer.
It was late 1996 when I was in 6th grade. Saw the new C5 design and made it a goal to have one someday. Now I've reached that goal...I'm on my second C5

It was the summer of 1967 when I saw and later rode in my cousin's '67 silver and black 427 4 speed. I was 10 years old. 18 months ago I finally realzed my deam. A 2000 MN6 Coupe. Guess what color it is!!!???
I would have to say that it was when I was 7 years old and my uncle would give me rides in his brand new 1966 Silver Coupe, 327/350 4 spd. I remember feeling the power press me into the seat and waving back at the other Corvettes. I would always watch whenever he modded the car and he would explain whatever he was doing at the time. It really left an impression on me.
Then in 1972 he bought a new Ontario Orange Convertible with saddle interior and a white top. It was then that I really knew that I had to have one as soon as possible. That '72 was a beautiful car and with the Cherry Bomb exhaust it sounded awesome, especially to a 13 year old. He let me drive it in a huge parking lot, first time I drove and learned how to start off on a manual transmission.
In 1975 when I was 16 he bought another, a new White L82 Coupe with White interior and I still remember the new car smell of that Vette. Within 3 years I had my first, a White '74 Coupe. He still has that White '76 plus a Silver '02 Z06, neither of which are at all stock.
That was a long time ago but I remember as if it were yesterday.
I am going to show my age here but who cares. Went to the local 5 and 10 cent store and got a model of the very first Corvette. I have loved them from then on. I was 10 at the time.
the FIRST car I was ever in (on the way back from the hospital) was my mom's 75 white T-top sting ray. Need I say any more?

I was born in 55 so the Corvettes of my very young days were quite awesome. My Dad still teases me and says that the very first word I ever said was Corvette.
Didn't get my first Vette until 1980, actually just a few months after I totaled my beautiful 71 V8 Vega that I had poured my heart and soul into. Buying the Vette then really eased the pain of losing that car, and I realized my lifelong dream of owning a Vette. After a ride in my new one, my Dad said, "There's nothin like a Corvette."
