will not make a bit of difference on re-sale....even the color. The C5 is not and will not be a collector car. Many C5's are getting to the age where they need repainted.
If he does a good job do it....but look at his work first

Its your car do what you want to it. I'm with btchn99, she's my better half, we are doing the same with her's as we did with mine. A C4 but still a Vette.
I started out with this,
And ended up with this,
Everyone that see's my car loves it. And so far everyone that has seen my wifes car loves it too.
If you know what type of paint job you will receive from your friend, then go for it. You are in a win, win situation. Low purchase price, low repaint cost. Go for the color that you want as long as it is done right. You will lose big if it isn't. By the way if you like yellow, a friend of mine painted his '32 Ford Pearlescent yellow and it looks almost like the new M.Yellow. I said this because an earlier thread mentioned look into other custom colors since you are repainting the car and not go with just stock colors. Have fun most of all.
I'm all for it, but the part that scares me is the "dirt cheap". Remember, you get what you pay for. Here's my current project - While it's not dirt cheap, it's going to be everything I expect when it's done:
$19.95, that doesn't include sanding. I like my Sebring Silver and do not plan on changing it. The wife and I also like the yellow. I will trade in my 98 to get a yellow vette when the time is right.
Thanx all for your replies! I appreciate all of them Im gonna put it off till the spring, so I have more time to think about what decision I will make . Thanx again!
