Does it bother you when you see fake rear Z06 vents tacked onto a regular C5, along with Z06 wheels? Or how about one of those Z06 look-a-like badges with a different word on it, even though it looks like a Z06 badge from more than 2 feet away? There are a couple of those around town (vert and coupe) and I always have to correct those around me that it's not a Z06 like they thought.
Corvette guys know it just an add-on, but does it bother you that others may be fooled? Just wondering.
If they want to wear faslies, let them wear faslies. Girlie-boy
Speaking about honesty, there are people out there who will change the nomenclature on vehicles to mislead either a potential buyer or a dealer.
One used car dealer told me that he sees truck owners buy the Harley Davidson logos or the 4 wheel drive logos just before trading them in. He always looks under the hood, and at the title.
I see this all the time too! All they do is swap on a mesh grill and that's usually enough to fool me. An older lady pulled into a Chili's parking lot a few weeks back as I was walking up and noticed the mesh grill. I automatically thought it was the V and said to her "Nice car! Those are pretty quick!" She said how she agreed and it's because of the turbos under the hood. I laughed it off as just being naive on how her 400hp was made. As I walked off, I noticed the 16" wheels and single exhaust pipe. I was fooled.
Not really bothered by what others do to their own rides but I do think its silly to have non-functioning rear brake ducts. Any C5 looks better anyways with Z06 wheels, and I don't see what the problem is with displaying Z06 rank on a non-Z06, as long as it doesn't actually say Z06, but instead something like "Z16" or something.

Sometimes people are idiots....WHY would you buy/put a fake badge(s) on your car.....I like the convertible Z-06's or the SVT Expeditions !!!!!! It doesn't matter what you have under the hood, if you can beat me that's OK.....but do try to bull $ hit prople...be honest.
Don't sweat the small stuff; and its all small stuff.

Hey that sounds like the grandfather of a phrase I often use, "Don't sweat the petty stuff, Pet the sweaty stuff."
About the badge issue: Some tuners and engine package deals offer these badges to advertize and allow thier customers to personalize thier vehicles when they modify them. Fender badges have been a long standing Chevy tradition, so that's the natural place for a badge to go.
By the way, I'm going to leave my stock Z badges on even though my engine is currently being modified.
Ricers have invaded the corvette world! Those that put Z06 badge on their coupes/verts are probably the same people that used to put VTEC, Type-R, and NAWWWWS stickers on their civics
