That is what I have been hearing, the car is fast now but you will always want to mod it to have it go even faster. What are some lower priced mods I can do to add some extra horsepower to it. Looking to spend around $2000 for mods or less.
I went from a 93 to my 99 vert. The first thing I bought was chrome Z-06 rims. The second thing was Corsa pace car exhaust. Lets the car breathe. Same with the air intake. Let it breath. both will add 10+ HP total not each. for less than $1000 if you buy bright.
I too live in Michigan and bought late last year a 2000 coupe (still have the '86)...I love it...As far as mods go my car has a Corsa exhaust, which sounds awesome (I bought an X pipe to clean it up, but do not yet have it installed)...I plan on adding a Blackwing air intake, which will add HP....my car also came with 4:10 gears...from all I've heard and read about, these gears seem to be on top of alot of peoples list as the best mod you can do (only opinions of course)...you might want to check it out...good luck, and enjoy the car!
I worked extra hours and even covered co-workers on-calls to get enough for a down payment on the vehicle. To me all the extra work and hardwork was well worth it, I truly love this car and I feel like I am in heaven when I am out driving it. If there are any Corvette events coming to Michigan in Spring or Summer please let me know I would like to meet some of you.
Its called "delayed gratification" a term seldom heard of by todays youth who have exchanged it with "I want it all and I want it now!"
Congratulations and you will enjoy it that much more now that you have achieved one of your goals.
Trust me I am enjoying it. I am paying a monthly payment equal to the 2003 Mustang GT I had and that car could not touch this one with a 100 ft. pole. This car is so much more and looks I get are priceless. I also get the occasional youngkid who wants to race me with there modded out rice burner and I pretty much look at them and laugh. I am not going to beat the hell out of my ride like you beat the hell out of yours.
Congrats on the C5. Just bought my first (02 vert) in November just before winter here in New England. So except for a few nice dry weekends, its been patiently waiting in the garage for spring and some top down weather. Puts a smile on my face just to see it in the garage and a grin from ear to ear to start it up and take it out.
Most guys here are big on mods. I like it just the way it is. As far as I'm concerned, Chevrolet engineered a great car and there is no need to mess with it unless you're going racing.
