Was my rental car in Phoenix a month or so ago. Wouldn't outrun the stock C5 on the freeway, but would probably give it a hard time off the lights. Lower gears and all.
Funny thing was that we had four of us in the GT-H going to dinner one night and a guy with his wife and kids, in a WRX, pulled up alongside us on I-10 around Chandler and tried to get a race out of us. Four in each car. I stayed at 70, he shifted down, wound out, and left.
I still prefer to drive my C5...
My front seat passenger said "He's going to be bragging that he OWNED that Shelby." Then the AZ Highway Patrol roared by, pulled him over, and my passenger said "He's going to be complaining that we knew the cop was back there, and it just isn't fair, and why didn't we get stopped, too. Even though we were around the limit." Some folks are good for a chuckle, no matter what.

Well, it WAS not this car!
It wasn't a rental, it appeared that the guy had just bought it.
Was out joy riding and showing off the car to his kids.
Some folks will just not get it, but the entire scenario was just too funny for me to not tell you all.

Is it just me or does every guy in a Mustang, especially if they are with a girl, think that they have a 10 second car right off the showroom floor. I have stomped Mustangs in my 6500 lb. 2005 Silverado with just an muffler and an intake.

It's not just you dude. I'm in Virginia Beach and theres a Ford plant here. I see millions of these things on the road and they all think they are badass. Mustangs are pigs. And even worse is that they are rice mobiles. I need to puke. I will post pix when I get the chance...
