The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following procedure:
1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2) Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
3) Press and hold "options"
4) While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-second period.
When first engaged the on-board diagnostics go into an "automatic" mode which shows all parameters: PCM-TCS-RTD-BCM-IPC-radio-HVAC-LDCM-RDCM-SCM-RFA. If there are no problems, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display.
The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem.
When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gauges" to go forward or "fuel" to go back.
To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M". If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press " reset".

If she drives the car, she should fill it up when it gets low. Just my opinion of course
On the side of the problem, reserve fuel is the first notification. There is also a low fuel warning after that. I've hit reserve fuel a few times, with about 1.5-2 gallons left in the tank, I've not seen the problem you described.

Write down the codes, and then 'clear' (RESET) them.
Post the codes here so we can look at them.
Next - has your battery (Delco) ever leaked? A good way to tell is to lift the battery (after disconnecting the battery cables) and feel/look at the battery tray (rub your finger underneath). Is there any battery acid residue?
Next - reconnect the battery (BTW - this should remove all codes, as well as any programmed seat positions, radio stations, steering wheel locations, etc.). It should also ensure that if the computer was 'hung up' it will be cleared.
You will need to drive the Vette a minimum of 50 miles to reset all the computers - we'll need to know if there was any issues that resurfaced.

Going to the parts store now to have them check the battery and buy some Lucas fuel additive.BRB.

I don't know what to tell you except look unnder hood at all coil's and make sure everything looks ok. Call dealer and ask??

Is it possible to contact previous owner and see if he has any idea what's up? He may have had same problem and can steer you in the right direction.
