Default Straight pipes

I just had some custom straight pipes put on the Z today Everytime I put my foot on the gas I just can't stop grinning
Definately the best/cheapest mod I've done

Sorry, I'm keeping them in case I have to throw them back on. I'll try and get a sound clip on here soon and yes I think it does scare women and children as well as set off car alarms! Finally, my Vette is louder than my Mustang!

What Headers, X-pipe and exhaust are you running up to the straight pipes??

I have TPIS LTs, Random Tech High flow cats & X-pipe, then the straight pipes.

I had always heard that running a car without backpressure from the mufflers will burn out the valves??????

Myth or fact??

Myth. somewhat. There is some back pressure. Not much.

I got 7 more ponies with the straight pipes. only 5 extra with the baffles in place.

Just a couple of questions...
How much popping is there if any when letting off the throttle? The X pipe probably helps alot.
Did you go with Borla or an exhaust shop custom a system up?
I am deciding on doing the Ti exhaust mod or e cut outs or doing straight pipes so any info or a sound clips would be awesome! Congrats and good luck

There is some popping under decel unfortunately. As long as you keep the rpms fairly low it isn't bad. It's worst between 2-3k. I had a local shop do the job to save some money and so I could chose my own tips. I will try to get a sound clip up but it might be a little while and it really doesn't do it any justice. It's not for everyone but I love it I've gotten quite a few compliments in the few days since I had it done. I hope that helps good luck

I had headers , no cats, x pipe and borla exhaust. Lost some low end power but the R's went up faster. I had to take it all off and go stock due to multiple tickets. I do find i get on it much more now that its quieter , before everyone would look when i nailed it. By the way in california its 1,000 dollar fine per cat if your caught without them.

Voadan, thanks, yeah it does help. I can't even take the thing out of the garage for another month (at least) because of the roads so if you get a clip on here great if not no biggie. Thanks for the info! Enjoy it!
