Find the tube coming off the upper passenger side of the throttle body area with a lump in the tube that looks like a python thats eaten a good meal recently. The lump is the PVC valve. You have to peel it like an orange to get the valve out to replace it.

my car has 33K miles on it (an '02). how often does the pcv valve need to be replaced? and i've read about and seen these catch can things. i guess if it just has to be done, i could put one in, but i also read somewhere on here there is a newer design of pcv valve that works better. does anyone know where to get them? part #? thanks folks.
