Either inside the ashtray area or on the console next to the traction control button would be a good place.

If you can part with the cig lighter in the center console, you can pop it out and replace it with a dash-type rocker switch from radio shack. I bought one there that just snaps right in. Very subtle, looks stock, and is out of the way. (my switch bypasses the hand-brake lockout on my navi system, by the way)

That's a good idea too!

BTW Mines a Fuel Door Release, it's the only switch I could find that was lit internally... Hated opening the console door all the time!

I fitted my heated seat switches in the ashtray.

I also have a fog light switch mounted in the panel to the left of the trunk release button (no pic)

To clarify, I replaced the lighter/acc power plug that is inside the flip-up center console. I still have a working lighter in the dash.

I'd put it in near the active handling button (like tstar and others mentioned). I haven't put any extra switches on the 'Vette, but have in other cars. This location seems to be the most convenient, and switches look like they "belong" there.
